Integral Level 1 Hatha Yoga
This class includes the classic routine which includes centering, asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), yoga nidra (deep relaxation), and a few minutes of meditation. There may be influences of Ayurveda sprinkled into the class. For example, in the summer, we will adjust our practice to incorporate poses that release heat and introduce cooling breaths. In the spring, we can add movements that free congestion that may have accumulated over the winter. Whether you are new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll enjoy the many benefits to this practice including increased flexibility, improved circulation and digestion, balancing the nervous system and bringing clarity to the mind.
This experience will begin with gentle stretching followed by an extended period of deep relaxation (yoga nidra). We’ll finish with breathing practices to calm the nerves, relax the mind, preparing it for a short period of meditation. This is the perfect “me-time” class to reset and destress.
Stress Relief and Rejuvenation
Participants will be guided in the Ayurvedic ancient healing technique of abhyanga, self oil massage, using organic oils and focusing on releasing tension. While the oil soaks in, enjoy an extended yoga nidra to promote deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation. We will finish with breathing practices to calm the nerves and relax the mind.
